STATUS - Completion of Warzone
August 26th, 2000 Warzone is finnished, patched, and out to everybody! August 10th, 2000 Nearly there people! June 3rd, 2000 The home stretch at last! I've finnished the last mission of the campaign and both Episodes 1 and 2 have been undergoing extensive beta testing by a small group of specially selected players. Episode 3 should be tweaked and polished for beta testers by next week and once the beta testing phase is over (2 weeks max) the campaign will be mostly ready to go. Unfortunately my exams are going to get in the way for a short period of time so I'm expecting an early July release with time given to get all the voice files and installation setups in order. The beta testers have been giving extremely positive feedback on the various missions and I think the wait will be well worth it. Nine months since its initial conception, Warzone will be ready to go. March 28th, 2000 Things are coming along nicely people! You may be worried, but this campaign is getting really close to release. Soon I will be doing a closed beta with a few select people where plot, mission, and design problems will be sorted out and the finnishing touches are put on things. Then the voice actors will come into things and once we've done all of that, the campaign is finnished and I'll release the whole thing. You'll all also be excited to know that I've got plans for a 8 mission campaign to take place 6 months after Warzone on a unrelated subject. I've just started drawing up plans for it, but the "secret ship" of this project is even cooler than the one for Warzone. March 2nd, 2000 Well, its been a long while since I made some updates here and I hope everybody will be pleased with what I have to say. Its taken alot longer to complete this campaign that I ever thought. Originally Warzone was going to be 6 missions with a small Shivan invasion to deal with. The project has snowballed and has gone on to include 20 missions with a huge plot that hopefully everybody will enjoy. I've decided to end the campaign at the end of Episode 3 rather than divide into an Episode 4. The last few missions have been especially fun to design and im hoping that the very last mission will leave you with a sense of awe and leave alot of questions to be answered. Fortunatly, Ace's Trinity will pick up Warzones plot and take it along a entirely new course into a twist you probably didn't see coming. The last mission, End of the Line is something along the lines of Flaming Sword and Their Finest Hour but with a larger amount of capital ships on either side. There is alot of tweaking to be done, but things are starting to come together. I'll be starting to work with testing the missions through and then we'll move onto the editing and adding of major command briefs and briefings. Once thats done, we move onto the spit and polish with voice acting. Finally, I've started something very cool with the Install Program, im certain you'll enjoy that as well. Thats all for now! February 12th, 2000 Several missions in Episode 2 which were too generic and too uninteresting were scrapped. I've replaced E2M3 and E2M5 with new missions that better fit the plot and introduce points in a better order. Episode 3 is layed out and missions 1 through 5 have been nearly completed. Still alot of work yet to be done and I doubt that Warzone will be out before March. Editing is going to take time and so are voice overs. Episode 1 should be ready for release at the end of February and the rest will follow shortly. Episode 4 will conclude the package and will be released sometime after the first three depending on time and on Aces Trinity release schedual. January 14th, 2000 Sorry for lack of updates, I'll be quite busy until the end of this month. Warzone will be closer to completion sometime in February. On the upside, some special surprises are currently being incorporated and Episode 3 is now looking really good as is Episode 2. December 29, 1999 I've done alot of reworking and designing of some amazing new missions. Currently missions upto Episode 2 mission 3 are nearly finnished. Many of the other missions are half complete or are in need of reworking. I'm putting the release off until early 2000. We'll see if I get it finnished before exams in January. December 11, 1999 Episode 1 is now a fully functioning Episode and Mission 6 is nearly finnished. Polishing is still needed, as does the creation of the campaign file, but these are low priority right now. Episode 2 is coming along nicely with a great mission involving the TAG-B missiles and clearing out some Shivan fighters with a little help from one of the few characters in the campaign, Lieutentant West. December 3, 1999 Made some changes to the first mission of Episode 1 to better incorporate some of the story elements used in later missions. Modified the balance to better reflect a first mission in a campaign. Episode 2 is now getting the special treatment as Episode 1 is nearly finnished with respect to triggers and events. November 29, 1999 Last 2 missions from episode 1 have been completely layed out and are starting to be quite a bit of fun to play. Debating on adding a plot element earlier in the episode that later surfaces in the second and ultimatly third. Subspace mission will be added although still working on if it will be a loop or a built in mission. November 27, 1999 All 6 missions from episode 1 are semi-complete with the first 4 having been extensively play balanced and messages as well as briefings and debriefings added. The other 2 need quite a bit more work done on them before they are anywhere near being finnished. Episode 2's missions have been layed out but alot more play balancing is required. |
