Hello and welcome to Asta's first rant. This week's rant- Netscape.
I've had Netscape (or should I say Nutscrape) Communicator for a little while
now, and it is one of the most ANNOYING programs I have ever had the displeasure
of using. I know what you're thinking,"Why doesn't he just download Internet
Explorer?" Well I'll tell you why. I downloaded IE 5 and when i finally opened
it after a half hour of installation, a little box pops up, telling me that,"This
site does not have a rating." And that I should type in a password that I dont
know. Anyway back to Nutscrape. For starters it's owned by the AOL company,
yet they distribute IE with thier software. It crashes relentlessly, and has
pointless error messages. Do you feel sorry for me yet?
First order of business...the ownership of this horrible monstrosity by the
monstrosity of monstrosities itself, AOL. Well, apparently, AOL distributes
IE with AOL, but owns Netscape. If they dont even want their own users using
it, why the hell am I stuck with it? I see a huge problem here. I think that
they can take one of their "600 hours free" CD offers and shove it right up
thei... oops, got a little to carried away there, heh. But i mean it. They are
totally and undeniably disrespecting Nutscrape and all 6 of it's unfortunate
users.
I have to say this one thing about it though... you can really rely on it.
Really, it's true. You can really trust it to crach right in the middle of the
most important thing you've tried to do all week. Every time I've ever tried
to accomplish something meaningful and important to society, that cute little
box telling me that,"Netscape has performed and illegal operation," and,"If
the problem persists, contact the program vendor." Well, Netscape makes that
one easy. Every time it crashes, another cute little box pops up called "Netscape
quality control." This little box tells you that Nutscrape has captured... holy
crap my cat just farted ...information that it needs to better serve me. With
the ammount of vital information it's captured, it should be a program with
the caliber of Freespace itself!
Well thats my rant. I feel strangely... peaceful and relaxed, but I still
hate Netscape.
