On this page, we will be informing you about some of the projects that the Triton Dynamics staff are currently working on or have completed. If you have any questions or comments about one of the projects, please e-mail orange@gamestats.com!
Here I will post information about what projects I am currently working on. Listed below are my projects currently under construction: 1. Better Capital Ship Weapons: This MOD will make capital ships much more capable of defending themselves against long range bombardment by weapons such as the Maxim Cannon. The standard Terran Turret will be editted so that it has slightly greater range and an equal fire rate to the Maxim, allowing it to hit enemy craft at extreme distances. The normal Terran Turret will also still be available as well to ensure that the capital ships do not mount very many of these new turret weapons. There may also be a modified Long Range Flak weapon included, it will have range similar to the modified Terran Turret but will have a slightly slowed fire rate. 2. Q-Ships Pack: A Q-Ship is defined as "an armed ship disguised as a merchant or fishing ship to decoy enemy submarines into gun range". This pack will basically apply this concept to most of the Terran, Vasudan, and Shivan freighters and transports in FreeSpace 2. The pack will NOT have any new skins as making a Q-Ship look different than a normal ship of its supposed class would not make sense (it is supposed to be disguised afterall). The pack will consist of new table entries giving the selected ships the following features: A. Higher Hull Integrity: All the ships in the pack will have greater than normal hull strength since they are essentially going to be much like warships intended for front-line combat, not support vessels intended to stay behind the lines as much as possible. B. Better Armaments: All ships included in the pack will have much better armaments, mostly flak and anti-fighter beams. A few of the vessels will include anti-capital ship beam weaponry. C. More Weapon Mounts: Two of the ships, the Triton and the Bes will have editted POFs which will give them additional weapons mounts. 3. Torpedo Bomber: This is merely the working name for a modification I am doing to the Argo-class transport, I do not yet know what I will name the ship. This MOD will involve editting the POF of the Argo to give it more missile bays. These bays will launch a special version of the Helios bomb. The bays will be mounted where there appear to be three docking points on the right side of the normal Argo. This ship will be a pure anti-capital ship weapon and quite vulnerable to enemy fighters. The idea is that it will be a nightmare to destroyers and even a viable threat to juggernauts, but it will be quite susceptible to destruction by enemy fighters if it is not well protected. 4. Darth_Maul's FreeSpace 1 Ships: I am also converting Darth_Maul's FreeSpace 1 Star Wars ships to FreeSpace 2 format. They are: The Imperial Star Destroyer, TIE Fighter, X-Wing, and Y-Wing. I am actually going to make this into two projects: A.: This will be an 'as-is' conversion to FreeSpace 2 format. I will convert the POFs over to FreeSpace 2 format and leave them with Darth_Maul's original skins so that the Star Wars ships may be used in FreeSpace 2. B.: This MOD will include new skins, table entries, and POF editting to the Star Wars ships to create new ships for the FreeSpace 2 universe. A Terran/Vasudan destroyer will be made out of the Imperial Star Destroyer model, and two new Terran/Vasudan fighters will be made from the X-Wing and Y-Wing models.
