The Hypermod
The Hypermod 1 and 2 are now hosted at this site. To sum it up, the Hypermods were for increasing the single player value of both FreeSpace one and two. Being that Hypermod 2 cannot be played fully on PXO I've focused on Hypermod 1 for that.
Hypermod 1 besides sporting the standard accelerated turrets and lowered damage ratings of ship turrets now has flak cannons and flak charges (charges being larger and more deadly). This is good for those who haven't played the original for awhile or have nothing but the original. Now in addition, both mods have been given pyrotechnic effects I.E. when you fire a large plasma like weapon it will explode on the shields/hull of other craft yet weapons or EM weapons like the Banshee or Kayser will not make an explosion being they are purely electromagnetic and has no real "BOOM" to make.
Hypermod 2 as far as improvement goes was given a beam weapon facelift as well as enhanced pyrotechnics. I would like to re-interate that Hypermod 2 was a sort of "custom" modification for something that will not see the light of day for some time however, it was also there as a resource so that people could learn from it, adapt its script so that other mods could then have thier own pilot controlled beams and pyrotechnics etc.
I will continue to update both as far as Freespace 1 and 2 can go for the simple reason of getting the most out of what I wanted of the games perhaps they will help you do the same.
Coming Soon to Triton Dynamics
Well, I've recieved a lot of feedback from visitors and fellow staff members about what to add to the site. Currently, I have approved of 3 sections to be added to the site.
The first one that will be added is a MOD Review page. Our staff members will test and review MODs and give them a rating on a scale of 0.5 to 5.
The other two sections are sections that will go on the front page where it currently asks if people are interested in becoming part of the staff. "Lava Master's Thought of the Moment" will be a little column displaying the funny antics and thoughts of our very own, Lava Master. The second of the two will be a MODing Tips column which will display tips thought up by our staff and tips submitted by our visitors. The neat thing about the two columns that will be added to the news page will be that just about every time you load the page, their will be a different one up, just like with the "Featured Pic" area. Look to see these improvements in the near future!
New Staff Member! After looking through a lot of the applications, I have just accepted another new staff member! I would like everyone to give a warm welcome to Laser Ray! He has a lot of experience with modifications in both Freespace 1 and Freespace 2. I know that his MODs are of the highest quality from personal experience and I am thrilled to have him on board. It will be exciting to see what he can do for us!
